Publish Date 04-11-2025

In Tangerang, Indonesia, humanitarian organizations convened for a workshop titled “Emergency Response to Save Gaza – Early Recovery Phase.” The event brought together multiple humanitarian actors from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Pakistan. Hayir Sosyal participated in the workshop, reaffirming its commitment to supporting coordinated international relief efforts for Gaza.

The workshop focused on the deepening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for unified and well-structured early recovery interventions. Participants reviewed the urgent priorities required to support millions of civilians affected by widespread destruction, displacement, and severe shortages of essential services.

Throughout the sessions, attendees examined four critical sectors that require immediate and coordinated action:

  1. Food and Water:
Ensuring safe drinking water, food parcels, baby formula, and emergency nutrition support for families facing hunger and dehydration.
  2. Health:
Strengthening access to medical supplies, essential medications, surgical equipment, and fuel for hospitals that are struggling to remain operational.
  3. Shelter:
Providing safe, dignified temporary shelters, improving living conditions for displaced families, and planning transitions toward semi-permanent housing units.
  4. Education:
Supporting damaged or destroyed schools, providing learning materials, and assisting teachers and students affected by the crisis.

The discussions revealed the urgent need for enhanced coordination between international humanitarian partners, as well as improved mechanisms for delivering life-saving aid despite severe logistical and political constraints. The workshop also examined the escalating challenges on the ground, including the collapse of essential infrastructure, restrictions on humanitarian access, and the rising levels of hunger, disease, and displacement among civilians.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants issued a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening humanitarian response efforts for Gaza. These included:

  • Intensifying coordination among relief organizations to ensure efficient and impactful aid delivery.
  • Prioritizing early-recovery strategies that support long-term resilience for affected families.
  • Enhancing support for health, education, and shelter as foundational pillars for restoring stability and dignity.
  • Expanding psychosocial programs to assist children, widows, and families coping with trauma.
  • Investing in water, sanitation, and renewable energy projects to create sustainable humanitarian solutions.

By joining this workshop, Hayir Sosyal reaffirmed its dedication to supporting international cooperation and contributing to collective efforts aimed at alleviating suffering and preserving the dignity of Gaza’s civilians.
